Wind-up toys based on The Wire

Mister Frothee:
Finally completed! A set of five miniature wind-up characters from yet another cancelled HBO series, "The Wire". They're each about 2.5 inches tall, and have weird proportions due to the small motors they contain. From Left to right: Jimmy McNulty, Bunk Moreland, Bubbles, Omar Little, and Kima Greggs.
He previously made Deadwood and Joan Holloway bobbleheads.

Link roundup

1. The Oakland A's were the talk of the sports world on Monday after signing Cuban slugger/outfielder Yoenis Cespedes, who put out a truly outlandish promotional video. If you're not convinced it's worth your time to watch, read this detailed description.

2. A lengthy analysis of why the Death Star's trash compactor makes little sense.

3. Bonsai tree houses.

4. Gyroscopically stabilized pool table for cruise ships.

5. Neverwhere, maybe my favorite Neil Gaiman novel, is currently a $3 download at Amazon.

New sculpture by by Doktor A.

New sculpture by Doktor A. for an upcoming show at Copro:
Oscar Lynchworthy

Constructed without limbs Oscar was a surly child.
He riled against the world feeling sidelined in his inability to do just about anything.
His parents offered to purchase appendages for him, but he adamantly remained in his self imposed funk.
His bitterness grew and festered for many years until one day he had an awakening.
A calling, a purpose, a vocation beckoned.
He would become a critic!
*Previously: My attempt to make a Doktor A-inspired toy.
